IKT Agder selects Bulk for data center partnership

Vennesla, Norway — [05.05-26] — IKT Agder, a leading public-sector IT provider in Southern Norway, has entered into a strategic agreement with Bulk for the delivery of data center services at the N01 Datacenter Campus in Vennesla.

The partnership represents an important step in strengthening digital infrastructure across the Agder region, with IKT Agder set to leverage Bulk’s facilities as a core component of its future IT platform.

The agreement aligns with IKT Agder’s strategy to keep municipal data locally within Norway under secure and regulated conditions, while ensuring scalability to support future growth.

Enabling long-term digital development

The agreement follows several years of collaboration between the two organizations, with discussions dating back to 2018. Capacity, flexibility, and long-term scalability have been key factors in the decision.

“This is an important partnership for us. We have had a strong and constructive dialogue with IKT Agder over several years, and we are very pleased that they have chosen Bulk as part of their critical infrastructure,” said Jon Gravråk, CEO Bulk Infrastructure.

“Our ambition is to make advanced data processing and storage accessible to both public and private organizations in the region. When an organization like IKT Agder selects Bulk, it clearly reflects the growing demand for local, secure, and scalable digital infrastructure.”

Gravråk also emphasized the long-term nature of the partnership:

“We look forward to building a strong and lasting collaboration. IKT Agder has clear ambitions for continued growth, and we are ready to support them with capacity and solutions that evolve alongside their needs.”

Supporting public sector data sovereignty

IKT Agder highlighted the importance of maintaining control over sensitive public data while ensuring future-ready infrastructure.

“We selected Bulk as our data center provider because they offer local, secure, and scalable infrastructure in the Agder region, supporting our objective of keeping municipal data within Norway under national regulatory frameworks,” said Rune Johansen, Managing Director IKT Agder.

“At the same time, Bulk’s flexible capacity and long-term approach provide a solid foundation for our continued digital development and growth.”

Strengthening Norway’s digital backbone

The partnership reflects a broader shift among public sector organizations toward locally delivered, future-oriented data center solutions. For the Agder region, this translates into increased digital capacity and improved foundations for public service innovation.

In parallel, ongoing investments in fiber infrastructure linked to the Vennesla campus are enhancing regional connectivity, enabling seamless integration between local data centers and global cloud platforms.

Vennesla is rapidly emerging as a key hub for fiber and internet connectivity, strengthening Norway’s position in the European digital landscape while contributing to national digital resilience.
