About Havfrue

It is the first system ever to connect Norway to the US with fiber optic connectivity! Norway, with its abundant availability of renewable hydropower, cool climate and stable political and regulatory environment, is an ideal location for data storage.

Havfrue is Bulk’s first subsea system project, connecting the N01 campus in Kristiansand with the US market. The overall system is a co-build together with Meta, Google and Aqua Comms, while the branch connecting into Kristiansand in Norway is fully funded, owned and operated by Bulk Fiber Networks.

The name “Havfrue” translates to “Mermaid” in English. It refers to The Little Mermaid, the well-known fairytale by H.C. Andersen, whereby the iconic statue in Copenhagen also has its name.
